Meet Marjorie

I’m an LGBTQIA+ neurodivergent artist and community builder, with more than twenty years’ experience in business, project management, entrepreneurship, and informal community development. I’m a practising visual artist, working across painting and printmaking, and an active member of several neurodivergent communities.

I believe that creativity and meaningful friendships can transform lives, and I’m passionate about reducing barriers for neurodivergent people to access safe and ND-designed creative spaces, building on people’s strengths, and creating opportunities for connection, creativity, confidence and community.

My Story

I've never taken the straight path through life.

I've lived in three countries, worked in a wide range of high-pressure corporate environments, and navigated some of life's biggest challenges, and all the while feeling an insistent creative energy. But for many years creativity was left out of my life, or enjoyed in snatches here and there. Now, I'm intentionally reshaping my life so that making art, building community and supporting others can take center stage.

Looking back, I've realised there has always been a common thread running through everything I do - I'm drawn to creating order, meaning and connection, especially since life can often be overwhelming, and the time we live in today can be lonely and isolating.

My artwork is rooted in symbolism and dreams, nature and the quiet stories that shape our inner lives. Through hand-carved lino-cut prints and thoughtful paintings in various mediums, I explore themes of belonging, resilience, curiosity, transformation, and our connection to nature and each other - creating images that invite people to pause, reflect and discover their own meaning.

Alongside my art practice, I am a supportive neurodivergent consultant, and I love helping people reach their creative and business goals. I'm also passionate about creating welcoming, low-pressure creative spaces where neurodivergent adults can meet, make art and build genuine community—something I know the value of through my own experience.

I believe creativity isn't a luxury; it's one of the ways we make sense of ourselves, of each other and of the world around us. My hope is that, whether you encounter my work through a print, an art session, or a conversation, you leave feeling a little more connected—to yourself, to others and to the life you're creating.

The Story Behind my Logo

Artist logo

I have a deep and passionate interest in symbology and my logo reflects the symbols about me, both professionally and personally. Here are some words to describe the symbols you see in my logo

The woman striding forward: That's me! Her clothes, style and slightly unconventional character reflect my personality and the way I approach my work: creatively, independently and with a sense of adventure

The magpie: my curious, playful and protective nature

The staff: leadership, community and helping others

The brush: creativity, artist, expressiveness

The book: love of learning, love of books, knowledge, seeking wisdom

The dress: historical, quirky, unique, mystical
